What this site is

A practical guide to relocating to Jersey, Channel Islands, for people weighing up the move or already planning it. It covers the housing rules, tax, cost of living, schools, healthcare, the parishes, getting here, and a checklist of what to do and when.

Why it exists

The official information on gov.je is accurate but spread across a great many pages. Relocation agents and estate agents have an interest in making the move sound simple. Forum threads go out of date quickly. This site aims to be the version a well-informed friend would give you, with the sources attached so you can check.

How it is researched

Every figure comes from a named source, usually gov.je, Revenue Jersey, Statistics Jersey, the schools or the service provider, and each page lists its sources at the bottom. Where a figure could not be confirmed, or comes from asking prices rather than official statistics, the page says so. Recent changes are flagged, such as Registered status becoming Standard in September 2026 and Blue Islands ceasing flights in November 2025.

What it is not

Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial, immigration or medical advice. Rules change and your circumstances are your own, so speak to a professional before you make decisions about tax, property or residency. Every page links to the official sources so you can go straight to them.

Keeping it up to date

Figures are reviewed when the main sources update: Statistics Jersey's quarterly House Price Index, Revenue Jersey's annual allowances, the social security tables each January and school fees each spring. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. If you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us and we will fix it.
